"Immigrant Advocates Rally for Change on Capitol Hill"

Shireen and I connected at the airport and were met by a driver. People crowded the streets in protest, and our driver said "There's a protest today with a lot of traffic." We lowered the window and looked upon the many different faces advocating for change. Today was a happening day in D.C. After leaving behind our bags in the hotel we walked over to the rally and joined the masses. It was a beautiful day full of hope and solidarity.  People wrote upon their shirts, "The time is NOW." The event was appropriate and it lifted our spirits. It was a perfect introduction to the city and put things into perspective as we head into the American Immigration Council ceremony tomorrow.
